CoinRadar

Euro coins · iPhone and Android

Your coin, recognised and explained.

A €2 coin at the back of a drawer, a commemorative handed over as change: CoinRadar tells you which coin you are holding, where it comes from and which sales have been recorded for each grade. Recognition runs on your phone; your photos never leave it.

The app is in preparation. Store links will appear here as soon as it is published.

The app's camera view: a €2 coin inside the circle, with the prompt “Hold still”.

IIdentify

Take a photo. That's it.

Aim at the national side, then the common side if the app asks for it. Recognition runs on the phone, even offline.

The catalogue covers more than 900 types: circulation coins from 1 cent to 2 euros and the €2 commemoratives of the 21 euro-area countries, plus Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City.

Result: an identified coin with its reference, country, denomination and year.

IIUnderstand

Every coin has a story.

Each record brings together the country, year, official mintage, rarity based on mintage, a description of the design and known varieties you can check by eye.

Record of a commemorative: mintage, rarity and description of the design.

IIIRecorded sales

What has sold, grade by grade.

For each grade, CoinRadar shows the recorded sales: range, median, number of sales and date of the latest one. Source: Numista.

When sales are few or old, the app says so. With no known sale, no price is shown. Past prices do not tell you the price of a future sale.

Sales require a connection and can be viewed for a daily number of coins stated in the app.

Recorded sales by grade, with the number of sales, the date of the latest one and Numista as the source.

IVCabinet and label

Your cabinet takes shape.

Arrange your coins country by country, see which ones you still need and be notified whenever a new €2 commemorative is issued.

Each entry receives a numbered inventory label you can share. Export your collection as a CSV file whenever you like.

The collection (cabinet, coins still needed, label, export) is for subscribers only, 3-day trial included.

Coin cabinet: one tray per country, with filled and empty slots.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Are my photos sent anywhere?

No. They are analysed on your phone and never leave it. To show sales, only the coin type number is sent to our server, with a random installation identifier. No account is required.

Do I need a connection?

Not to recognise a coin or to keep your collection as a subscriber. Recorded sales and alerts about new coins require a connection.

What does the subscription include?

Without a subscription you can make one identification and browse the catalogue. The CoinRadar Collection subscription unlocks unlimited identifications, recorded sales and the collection: cabinet, coins still needed, inventory label and export. The collection is for subscribers only, during the trial and afterwards. Prices: €29.99 per year or €4.99 per week (VAT included in the euro area), each starting with a 3-day trial. The store shows the prices for your country before purchase.

How does the 3-day trial work?

Before you confirm, the subscription screen shows the trial length, the price that applies afterwards and the date of the first charge. The day before the trial ends, the app sends you a reminder. Cancelling during the trial means you are not charged. The trial is offered once, under the store's conditions.

How do I cancel?

On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. On Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. In the European Union you can also withdraw within 14 days directly in the app (Settings > Subscription), with a full refund.

Where do the amounts shown come from?

From sales recorded on Numista, a collaborative numismatic catalogue. They are past sales, shown with their number and date; they do not tell you the price of a future sale and are not advice. CoinRadar is not affiliated with Numista.

Which coin images does the app use?

Common-side images come from the European Central Bank. No official image of a national side is reproduced: the photo of the national side is yours.

When will the app be available?

CoinRadar is being prepared for the App Store and Google Play. This page will show the links as soon as it is published.
